Neurocognition in Youth with Prediabetes
Study overview:
The Yale School of Medicine is conducting a study to understand how metabolism (the way your body uses food) affects cognition in school-age youth. In this study, we will follow children and adolescents every 6 months over a 2-year period.
The study consists of 2 Full Assessments and 3 Short Assessments. Each Full Assessment contains: 2 MRI sessions, 1 Lab session with puzzles and other cognitive tests, and 1 Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). These 4 sessions may take up to 10 hours, spread across 4 separate days in a 1-2 month window. Each Short Assessment is similar to the Lab session, but with fewer tests, and will take about 1 hour. The total time commitment will be about 23 hours over the course of 2 years.
